Alameda Wildlife Refuge

→ Purchase Alameda Wildlife Refuge DVD

A short film about endangered California least terns nesting and raising chicks at a most unlikely location: on a runway at the old Alameda Naval Air Station. The Station has been proposed as a new national wildlife refuge, and if bureaucratic stalemates can be resolved, least terns, brown pelicans, and shorebirds will be able to depend on this urban habitat far into the future.

Directed by Judy Irving, Narrated by Jerry Graham
5 minutes, 16mm color
